Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Psychology Department at SUNY Potsdam is accepting on-line applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor for fall 2018. We are seeking a candidate whose area of expertise is Clinical Psychology. The area of specialization within Clinical Psychology is open. Position is open until filled.

Job Requirements & Essential Functions of the Job:

The ability and willingness to teach Introduction to Psychology is desirable. The successful candidate will support the department’s focus on involving students in research and the campus’ mission of providing an education that emphasizes applied learning experiences for our students. A willingness to engage in clinical work or counseling for constituents in the community is also desirable.

Required Qualifications:

Ph.D in Psychology, ABD in Psychology will be considered. Also required is licensure or eligibility for licensure in New York State.

We are seeking candidates who possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues and who have demonstrated a commitment to creating, fostering and sustaining an inclusive environment in and out of the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with clinical experience and / or experience teaching courses in Clinical Psychology at the college level are preferred. In addition, we are interested in candidates who can demonstrate the potential for or evidence of scholarly activity appropriate to the discipline.

We are, especially, seeking candidates who have worked with, done research with, or taught under-represented groups and have worked collaboratively across various departments in fostering success of underrepresented groups.
