Job Summary/Basic Function:

SUNY Potsdam’s Physical Plant is seeking applications for the position of Construction Site Representative. The successful candidate will report directly to the Facilities Coordinator and will be responsible for the observation and inspection of construction projects on-site. Job Requirements & Essential Functions of the Job:

SUNY Potsdam seeks an individual to join our professional staff as a project coordinator. Duties include checking for compliance with contract requirements; participation in job meetings to report on progress and problems; review of contractor’s application for payment; maintenance of a daily project log for each individual project on campus. Duties for project coordination include working with the State University Construction Fund (SUCF), Dormitory Authority (DASNY), Office of General Services (OGS), Architects, Engineers, and on-campus departments. Coordinator will work closely with Campus members to determine the project facility needs, Project specific reviews will be conducted with interested committees or groups on the Campus.

Required Qualifications:

We are seeking candidates who possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues and who have demonstrated a commitment to creating, fostering and sustaining an inclusive environment in and out of the classroom.
• Technical knowledge of design and construction industries required
• Ability to comprehend construction drawings and specifications required
• MS Word and Excel proficiency required
• Associates Degree in Construction Technology, Architecture, Engineering or related field required;
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction management, construction industry, construction supervision, architecture, engineering or related field required.
• Valid NYS Drivers License.

• Estimating and project scheduling software preferred
• Previous site rep or clerk of the work experience.
• 7 years of experience in construction management, construction industry, or related field
